HSBC appoints Paul Arrowsmith as Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management
He will be reporting to Alex Hungate, General Group Manager and CEO in Singapore.
Paul Arrowsmith has been appointed Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management at HSBC Singapore with effect from 1 August 2011. In his new role, Mr Arrowsmith will manage and lead all aspects of HSBC’s retail and wealth businesses in Singapore and will also oversee HSBC’s insurance and asset management businesses in Singapore. He will report to Alex Hungate, General Group Manager and CEO, Singapore.
Paul has been with the HSBC Group in Singapore since 2007, when he was appointed CEO of HSBC Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd. He took on a regional mandate as the Head of HSBC’s South East Asian insurance business in 2009 and was promoted to Deputy Regional Head of Insurance in 2010. In this role, he took charge of the growth and profitability of HSBC’s Asia Pacific insurance business and eventually assumed overall responsibility for the Bank's regional insurance business. Paul is also Chairman of HSBC Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
A seasoned professional in the financial services industry, Paul has held chief executive and board member positions in several global insurance companies, and brings with him over 20 years of experience in strategic insurance business management across Asia in countries such as New Zealand, Korea and Indonesia.
