Japan’s Mizuho Bank sees profits rise 24.4% in H1
Full year dividend is expected to be JPY100 for 2023.
Japan’s Mizuho Bank has announced an interim dividend of JPY50 (US$0.33) after recording double-digit revenue and profit growth for the first half of the 2023 fiscal year.
The Japan-headquartered bank reported a JPY574t in ordinary profits during the period, a 30.6% increase compared to the first half of the 2022 fiscal year.
Profit attributable to shareholders rose 24.4% to JPY415.74t. In contrast, shareholders’ profits had contracted 13.4% in the same period in 2022.

Net income per share of diluted stock has also increased to JPY164.03 in H1 2023, from JPY131.77 in H1 2022.
With this, Mizuho now estimates its year-end dividend to be JPY100 (US$0.66).
