BRI reports $1.83b (IDR29.9t) profit in Q2

President director Sunarso hailed their credit distribution and DPK.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) reported a profit of IDR29.9t (approximately $1.835b) for the second quarter of 2024.

BRI President Director Sunarso attributed the performance to “double-digit growth in credit distribution and Third-Party Funds (DPK),” according to a press release.

BRI’s credit distribution expanded to IDR1,336.78t ($82.06t) during the quarter, 11.2% higher compared to Q2 2023, Sunarso told reporters during a press conference announcing the bank’s financial performance.

BRI's DPK grew by 11.61% to IDR 1,389.66t ($85.31b) in Q2 compared to Q2 2023. CASA funds rose 7.66% to IDR 877.9t over the same period.

Fee income grew 10.15% to IDR11.26t ($691.21m).

Sunarso expressed optimism for the second half of 2024, saying that the BRI has “strong liquidity and capital conditions.” This will provide further room for growth, he said.
