UOB Hong Kong has named Mark Tan as head of internal audit.
Tan oversees all audit functions for the bank’s activities in Hong Kong. He was appointed to the role last 15 March, UOB said in a press statement published on 15 May.
He reports to Adaline Zheng, CEO of UOB Hong Kong; and to Ong Bee Yen, executive director of group audit at UOB. He will also join the management committee of UOB Hong Kong.
Tan was most recently a member of the UOB audit team based in Singapore, where he spearheaded audit programmes and major data analytics initiatives for international branches.

He brings over 18 years of experience into his new role. He holds a master’s degree in digitalisation leadership from the National University of Singapore and a bachelor’s degree in commerce and information systems with first class honours from the Australian National University.
UOB Hong Kong CEO Zheng expressed delight in welcoming Tan to the Hong Kong team.
“His profound expertise in audit functions and his strategic and approachable leadership style are key to ensuring our regulatory compliance and securing our standing as a trustworthy financial institution,” Zheng said.
Tan is said to offer critical insights to the committee and supports the UOB Hong Kong’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of financial integrity and accountability, the bank said.
