Standard Chartered names Sumit Choudhary as head of emerging companies research, India
He reports to Jeremy Sutch and Rahul Singh.
In a statement, Standard Chartered announced the appointment of Sumit Choudhary as Head of Emerging Companies Research, India. Sumit is based in Mumbai and reports jointly to Jeremy Sutch, Head of Emerging Companies Research, and Rahul Singh, Head of Equity Research, India.
Standard Chartered’s Emerging Companies Research franchise, headed by Jeremy Sutch, is known for its differentiated views and well-established coverage among small and mid-cap names in ASEAN and Greater China. Sumit’s addition to the team will complement the team’s growing footprint in India, enhancing the overall delivery of a compelling research value proposition to our clients.
Sumit brings to the Bank a unique perspective to the franchise, having covered the entire gamut of India companies while on the buy-side with Och-Ziff in the last seven years. He also previously worked in the investment banking division of Citigroup in India, where he was involved in private equity capital raising and M&A.
