Howden acquires Insurance Underwriters (NZ)

The acquisition targets to expand IUNZ’s reach.

The Insurance Underwriters (NZ) (IUNZ) announced its acquisition by UK-based Howden Group.

In a LinkedIn post, IUNZ said the acquisition shows Howden's independence, which aligns with the ethos that has defined IUNZ since our inception in 2017.

IUNZ believes that this collaboration with a UK-based group will enhance the customer experience by leveraging the strength of community focus and an independent spirit on a global scale.

Howden Group, a global insurance founded in 1994, shares our values and independence as a privately owned business. Their expertise ranges from global insights, resources, and expertise in insurance broking, reinsurance broking, and underwriting services, serving a wide range of clients from individuals to the largest multinational corporations.

The New Zealand insurer said the transition is not toward changing the company’s path, changing its name, or disrupting its workforce.

With the integration into the Howden, IUNZ gains access to a wider range of resources, positioning us at the forefront of our evolving industry during a time of significant demand for insurance solutions.
