HK Insurance Authority shuts down offices amidst new Omicron threat

Majority of employees are ordered to work from home.

The Hong Kong Insurance Authority has announced that it will shut down its offices in Wong Chuk Hang and North Point in response to the latest developments in the COVID-19 pandemic.

The IA said it will still have normal operating hours for their enquiry and complaint hotline services. Email responses will also continue as normal.

A skeleton staff will be working on site whilst the majority of IA employees will be working from home.

The IA said it will continue to review the situation and will announce any updates on the IA website.

Health officials warned that many untraceable transmission chains of the Omicron variant were spreading across Hong Kong, a warning that comes after many Hongkongers enjoyed the Lunar New Year.
