Taiwan’s foreign-currency policies see 5% YoY rise in May

Taiwan’s life insurers saw their sales of foreign-currency-denominated products totaling $3.6b (NT$119.9b) as of end-May, increasing by 5% year-on-year (YoY) from $3.4b (NT$114.1b), data from the Insurance Bureau showed.
Investment-linked insurance products generated $0.55b (NT$18.5b), about 15% YoY of the total, marking a 28% YoY decline from $0.77b (NT$25.5b) the previous year.
In contrast, traditional insurance products saw a 15% YoY rise, reaching $3.0b (NT$101.5b) (85% of the total) versus the $2.7b (NT$88.6b) last year.
