Chinese insurers retrieve 18,400 claims for rain damages

China’s insurers said they received about 18,400 claims related to rain-induced damages, as of 12:00NN Sunday. The total claimed loss amounted to ~$86.9m (CNY619m).
Relevant insurance institutions have sent nearly 10,000 personnel and more than 5,000 vehicles to the disaster-hit areas, and they have paid or prepaid a total of $14.5m (CNY105m) in compensation, according to the National Financial Regulatory Administration.
