Appointee leads regional team reinforcing commitment to expand Global Payments and Cash Management in South Asia.
HSBC announces the appointment of Mark A. Troutman as Head of Sales, Southern Asia, Global Payments and Cash Management. Based in Singapore, Troutman will report directly to Richard Jaggard, Head of Sales for Global Payments and Cash Management, Asia Pacific.
Troutman joins HSBC from J.P. Morgan where he was Managing Director and Regional Sales Executive for Multinational Corporates and Treasury Consulting. Throughout his 22-year career, he has held a number of senior management positions focused on corporate working capital services, international banking and financial institutions in Singapore, Australia, and USA, according to an HSBC report.
“Mark’s new role will enable us to enhance the consultative sales approach for which HSBC is already renowned, to clients and prospects whilst further reinforcing the Bank’s position as a leading provider of cash management and working capital services across multiple markets in Southern Asia,” emphasises Jaggard.
In his role, Troutman will be responsible for delivering sophisticated payments and cash management solutions to HSBC’s global and commercial banking clients, non-bank financial institutions and the public sector including multi-lateral organisations across the region. His appointment is one of several key management and staffing moves within the region, including the recently announced formation of a team of experts who have been relocated from various HSBC offices worldwide to Singapore. In Troutman’s new role, he will be leading this new team of industry specialists who will serve the specific needs of the Singapore market as a growing hub for Asian Multinationals and Regional Treasury Centers.
Commenting on the appointment, John Laurens, Head of Global Payments and Cash Management, Asia Pacific said: “The unprecedented levels of client activity experienced by us across the region post the global financial crisis clearly shows the strength of the bank’s franchise and illustrates the importance of further investment in the development of our team. Mark’s experience and knowledge of the cash management industry across Asia Pacific, together with his strong client orientation and leadership skills, are the perfect combination to lead our talented team of cash management consultants as they serve our extensive client base in the region.”
