KTB starts operation of its Netbank internet services
The bank offers higher interest, 0.5 percentage points more than for normal savings accounts, for minimum deposit of $331 to draw pioneer customers.
President Apisak Tantiworawong said KTB kicked off on Monday its new Netbank internet banking service.
During the first phase, the service will be available only via iPhone and iPad applications.
To promote this new e-channel, KTB is offering higher interest, 0.5 percentage points more than for normal savings accounts.
This means clients with a NetSmartFixed deposit account accessed via the Netbank electronic banking channel will receive an annual savings rate of 1.25% compared with 0.75% for normal deposit accounts.
Minimum deposit is 10,000 baht ($331) compared with only 300 baht ($9.93) for a normal deposit account.
Starting on Tuesday, KTB is offering a free iPad 2 to to the first 10,000 customers who open a NetSmartFixed account and deposit 550,000 baht ($18,209) for 55 months at 3.2% per year or one million baht for 29 months at 2.9% per year.
