Hear from EY's Chris Lim at ABF Digital & Open Banking Conference 2019
Ernst & Young’s advisory partner will discuss how trust will look like in the digital age.
Chris Lim, advisory partner at Ernst & Young, has years of practical experience between the Singapore and Australia practice under his belt and works extensively with financial institutions on technology risk, cyber and compliance disciplines across Asia Pacific.
He has extensive design and implementation experiences across regulatory, technology and operational areas, including practical industry experience as APAC and country head for over 9 months at a large global bank based in Singapore.
In an interview with Asian Banking & Finance, Chris talks about the “pirate” mindset of seizing opportunities in the financial sector as well as being open to the advancements taking place in the industry.
What are your previous experiences and positions held that contributed to who you are as a banker/expert today?
I would say that it’s the mindset in addition to the positions I’ve held and the experiences I have gained. Keeping an open mindset to changes happening in the industry and business environment, and keeping an inquisitive mind to understand technological changes and how these can impact the way the financial sector works, are key in my profession.
What would you say are the best practices and digital strategies deployed by the region's digitally dominant banks? Where does open banking fit in this agenda and how should banks capture the opportunities from this growing ecosystem?
The region is undergoing one of the most exciting changes and transformations, we are just at the beginning of the journey and as the saying goes “seize the opportunity.”
Can you give us a glimpse of what you will share at the ABF Digital & Open Banking Conference 2019?
What will “trust” look like for digital banking and how will the traditional three lines of defense risk management evolve?
